We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and guided by Reformed theology. We believe that every person is able to experience faith in God in their own meaningful way, but that God is most fully experienced in community. God's love and grace is given to all people, and we live lives of faith in grateful response to that good news! Guided by scripture, we seek to build faith for our own spiritual nourishment, and to also serve our community and the world.

As Presbyterians, we believe in "freedom of conscience," which means that you are not required to agree with or believe in every teaching of the church. Rather, we believe that through life in community, we collectively experience God, discover truth together, and discern God's call for our lives. We invite you to journey with us at FPCLS!

Above all else, we seek to live a life of love, knowing that God's love is eternal and can change the world.

Out of our genuine love for Christ and for others, we commit to invite, welcome, include, and support newcomers and help them grow in faith as they become part of the Body of Christ.

We commit to offer passionate worship that connects people to God and to one another. With eagerness and expectancy, we desire to encounter Christ through singing, prayer, Scripture, preaching and Holy Communion; and respond by allowing God’s Spirit to shape our lives.

We commit to offer high quality learning experiences that help people, from the youngest in our midst to the oldest, understand Scripture, faith, and life in the supportive nurture of caring relationships.

We commit to doing the projects and works needed to make a positive difference in the lives of others for the purposes of Christ, whether or not they will ever be part of the community of faith.

We commit to the practice of extravagant generosity through extraordinary levels of sharing and giving resulting in a positive difference for the purposes of Christ.

At FPCLS, we take seriously Jesus' command to love one another, and as a congregation have committed to making our church a place of holy welcome.

We are a Matthew 25 congregation. This initiative of our denomination focuses on building congregational vitality, eradicating systemic poverty, and dismantling structural racism.

We are an open and affirming congregation, which means that sexual orientation or gender identity serve as no barrier to church membership, celebration of sacraments, marriage, and ordination to the offices of elder, or pastor. This is a belief ratified by the General Assembly of the PC(USA), our denomination's highest governing body, and embodied by our staff and congregation.

In June of 2022, the Session of FPCLS approved its Statement of Inclusion (below), and remains proactively committed to creating an environment of genuine hospitality and love.
